After we posted our December 9, 2016 Yellow Challenge, a collaborative chess game, both we and the participants seemed to get enough enjoyment out of that game and the one that followed that we decided to create a board where anyone could create and/or participate in games.
You can see our original description of the rules in the challenge above, but basically, when you are involved in a game, simply pick the first valid move for the previous side's turn, copy it and all of the previous moves into a reply, and then make your own move. Number your move and put your forum name next to it. Look at other games to see the method in action.
When creating your own games, you can declare that it is open to just you and one other, your team and another, or anyone who wishes to make a move. However you wish your game to be structured, simply state it in the first post in the thread. Your games, your rules, here we are merely spectators, not referees.
Suggestions:
Enjoy!

Suggestions:
- Our Google Hangout is an excellent place to announce and coordinate games and teams, as well as to see any interactions that do not make it to the forum (which we have been told are occasionally more entertaining than the games themselves).
- Wikipedia provides an excellent explanation of chess notation. If you are confused regarding any of the notation, do not hesitate to ask anyone for clarification.
- We have found this website to be an incredible tool to use for tracking games. You can very quickly duplicate the list of moves in a game here on that website to see the current state of the board. Clicking "Save" and then "Clone in New Window" will allow you to save the state of the board.
Enjoy!
